About Operation Blue Christmas

  • Operation Blue Christmas began in 2016 as a senior project by our founder, Frankie Cohen. Inspired by her participation in the Student Leadership Program at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and moved by the tragic loss of police officers in Dallas, TX, Frankie developed a leadership action plan to bridge the gap between law enforcement and local communities. With a personal connection—her father's long-standing career as a police officer—Frankie envisioned a way to bring officers and families together in a meaningful, joyful way.

In 2023, what began as a heartfelt high school initiative officially became a nonprofit organization, and our mission continues to grow with each passing year.

  • At the heart of Operation Blue Christmas is the belief that building trust starts with showing up. We believe that by delivering gifts, we’re not just sharing holiday joy—we’re opening the door for understanding, empathy, and communication between officers and the families they serve.

We rely on community nominations to identify families in need, and our dedicated officers, in full uniform, personally deliver these gifts. These moments of connection help break down barriers and foster a spirit of partnership.

  • Over the years, Operation Blue Christmas has touched the lives of countless families. From heartfelt thank-you notes to lifelong friendships formed between officers and community members, our work extends beyond just one holiday season. Every gift delivered is a step toward building trust, one family at a time.
